The first Signal Processing Society Winter School on Image and Video Analysis (SPSWSIVA 2018) is intended for Ph.D students in related field of computer vision and pattern recognition. SPSWSIVA will take place in Medellín, Colombia. The event will has lectures from five important Colombian researchers on computer vision.​

​The technical theme of the school is the analysis of digital image and video. In recent years, the growing amount of visual content represented by images and videos have driven a pressing demand for the extraction of relevant information from complex scenes in images and video and also for review and control of image and video quality. The school will present the latest advances and emerging approaches for the extraction of relevant information from images and videos with special applications in compressive sensing, 3D reconstruction, and intelligent vehicles.
